Initially I just wanted to pain an octopus because they're beautiful animals, but as I kept sketching on Photoshop, the idea of a dystopian post apocalyptic world in which nature is so destroyed and the planet is so polluted emerged. In this world, flowers don't exist anymore, humans create synthetic candy-like flowers to make the world pretty again and that's what hummingbirds (who can't breath the polluted air) have to somehow feed from. The oceans are so polluted with plastic and oil that animals "evolve" into something different, developing wings to fly out of the water.

In the end we celebrated Spring with a giant feijoada (traditional Brazilian bean stew) and many litters of caipirinha (Brazilian traditional cocktail)!
